UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital Employees Donate over 300 Turkeys to Ginny’s Helping Hand and The Salvation Army

Leominster, MA – UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital employees donated over 300 turkeys to local food pantry’s, Ginny’s Helping Hands and the Salvation Army, to help provide Thanksgiving meals to our community.

“Employees at HealthAlliance volunteered to donate hundreds of holiday turkeys to others in need in our community this year. Unselfish acts like this one are just one more small example of how the team at HealthAlliance is dedicated to caring for our community,” stated Deborah Weymouth, President & CEO of UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital.
Sue Chalifoux from Ginny’s Helping Hand said, “We originally planned on handing out 250 baskets and ended up putting together 336 and we could not have done that without the donation from UMass Memorial – HealthAlliance Hospital. There are a lot of  people struggling in the community and this donation almost doubled the number of people we were able to serve.”

“We all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, knowing that over 300 families in the Fitchburg, Leominster, and Lunenburg area also had a good Thanksgiving thanks to the generosity of the HealthAlliance employees. Thank you so much for all that you do for our community,” stated Major Karen Garrett, The Salvation Army.
