UMass Memorial Health - HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital is a great place for you to have a baby. The maternity service features personalized care to enhance your birth experience, including breastfeeding support, classes and many comfortable, private rooms. Expert physicians, anesthesiologists, nurses and support staff provide high-quality, family-centered care for you and your family.
As a family-focused Birthing Center, we encourage family and friends who support the labor process to attend labor. Our seven labor/delivery/recovery beds allow patients to stay in one location for labor and delivery.
HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital offers various methods of pain control, including supporting non-medicated birth, narcotic pain control, epidurals and intrathecal anesthesia, all which are available 24 hours a day.
If required, a surgical birth occurs in our surgical suite on the Birthing Center unit, supported by our Birthing Center staff. Recovery from birth is also provided in the Birthing Center to decrease mother/baby separation.
We have 19 postpartum rooms. We try our best to make sure you have your own private room. Family and friends can visit during visiting hours.
Tours of the Birthing Center are offered regularly, or watch a Virtual tour of the Birthing Center. Call the Childbirth and Family Education Department at 978-466-2354 to schedule a tour.
Maternity and post-partum hours are from 1 to 8:30 pm every day. In labor and delivery, we use our best judgment if the patient can see visitors.
The Nursing Mom Breastfeeding Center offers breastfeeding supplies, counseling, classes and support groups. If you would like to speak to a lactation consultant, they are available for private consultation during the hospital stay or after discharge. The center is open to patients and the public, and offers a supportive atmosphere for you to ask questions about breastfeeding. To contact the center, call 978-466-2365.
