You Can Press Your Luck with Me But Not Your Heart
Don't take a chance on something so important as your heart health. Did you know heart disease is the leading cause of death in men and women across the United States? Many people aren't aware of their risk factors for heart disease or don't keep close enough tabs on their heart health if they have a cardiovascular condition. Fortunately, UMass Memorial Health Care provides adults in Central Massachusetts with the most comprehensive care for all types of heart disease and vascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and vascular disease.

Our Limb Preservation Team: Saving Limbs, Saving Lives

There is a strong correlation between cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Diabetes greatly increases the risk of heart disease and stroke, and with that, comes other complications, such as changes in circulation, decreased sensation and changes in structure of the foot causing a foot ulcer. If not treated promptly, ulcers can easily become infected and may lead to amputation. Seventy-five percent of amputations are due to diabetes. Early detection and treatment is critical to limb preservation. Our Limb Preservation Center uses an evidence-based approach to wound evaluation and care.
