UMass Memorial Primary Care Practices Recognized for Excellence in Patient Experience

The awards include three practices being recognized as top overall performers in either adult or pediatric primary care - 
WORCESTER, Mass. – UMass Memorial Health Care placed five of its primary care practices in the winner’s circle of the first-ever Massachusetts Health Quality Partner’s (MHQP) Patient Experience Awards. Those receiving recognition for their superior performance include The Hahnemann Medical Group; Pediatric Primary Care (Benedict Clinic); Worcester Pediatrics PC; Chair City Family Medicine PC; and South County Pediatrics. 
In addition to their achievements in the individual categories, South County Pediatrics and Worcester Pediatrics PC were also recognized as top overall performing pediatric practices while the Hahnemann Medical Group was named a top overall performing adult primary care practice.
The “Patient Experience Awards” was introduced this year by MHQP, a non-profit measurement and reporting organization that brings together providers, health plans, and patients to improve the quality of patient care experiences in Massachusetts. MHQP conducts the only statewide survey of patient experience in primary care in Massachusetts, with feedback from over 65,000 commercially-insured patients across the state.”
The awards recognize primary care practices that perform highest on the MHQP annual statewide survey. The survey results are used to identify the top performing adult and pediatric primary care practices. Awards are given in the following nine categories:
  • Distinction in Empowering Patient Self Care – South County Pediatrics
  • Distinction in Patient-Provider Communications – Hahnemann Medical Group
  • Distinction in Assessment of Patient Behavioral Health Issues
  • Distinction in Office Staff Professional Excellence – Worcester Pediatrics PC
  • Distinction in Coordinating Patient Care
  • Distinction in How Well Providers Know Their Patients – Hahnemann Medical Group; Chair City Family Medicine PC; Pediatric Primary Care (Benedict Clinic)
  • Distinction in Ease of Access to Care - Worcester Pediatrics PC
  • Distinction in Assessment of Child Development (pediatrics only)
  • Distinction in Pediatric Preventative Care (pediatrics only) - Worcester Pediatrics PC
