Student Audiology Services
- We are a Massachusett Department of Public Health approved Level I Audiologic Diagnostic Center for the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program. Evaluations include both unsedated and OR sedated testing.
- Our Diagnostic Center works closely with the Department of Otolaryngology to provide a full range of comprehensive evaluations. We are a major referral center for vestibular (VNG, VEMP) and electrophysiological (ABR, ASSR, ECochG, Neurodiagnostic ABR) testing.
- Our Hearing Implant Program provides Cochlear Implants, Electro-Acoustic (EAS) and Hybrid CI’s, as well as Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (BAHA).
- Our Hearing Improvement Center fits the latest hearing aid technology, serving both pediatrics and adults.
Graduate Student Clinical Rotations
Through their university audiology placement coordinators, audiology graduate students may apply for a rotation in the Diagnostic Center located on the University Campus. Under the direct supervision of licensed and certified audiologists, they gain valuable clinical experience to augment their academic studies. After the successful completion of one diagnostic rotation and upon the recommendation of their UMass Memorial Medical Center supervisor, they may be invited to apply to either the Hearing Improvement Center or the Cochlear Implant Program for subsequent rotations.
These placements occur year-round and students are accepted in all three of our programs (Diagnostic Program, Hearing Aid Program, Hearing Implant Program).
University clinical placement supervisors can email Nicole Seymour, AuD, CCC-A to request a student placement. Requests by students will not be accepted.
