The Duddie Massad Emergency and Trauma Center

The Duddie Massad Emergency and Trauma Center cares for the most severely injured patients from across the region, from the time of injury and transfer to our care, to discharge and rehabilitation. The Trauma Center, verified as a Level 1 since 1987 by the American College of Surgeons, is the most technologically advanced emergency care facility in the area and is supported by dedicated operating rooms, intensive care units and nearby X-ray and imaging suites.

Our skilled trauma surgeons are here around-the-clock, providing innovative emergency and trauma care for thousands of adults and children from throughout Central and Western Massachusetts every year.

We also have a highly specialized NeuroTrauma Intensive Care Unit to provide personalized treatment to patients with severe brain injuries.
