Providers at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Children’s Medical Center are here to help when your child faces physical, emotional and developmental challenges. We provide specialized services and support related to common health issues, puberty, reproductive health, mental health, life changes and more.
The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship is offered to medical school graduates who have completed an approved three-year pediatric residency or met Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved standards.

Screening Programs
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Children’s Medical Center is the region’s only Level III NICU, caring for extremely premature babies and newborns with complex medical needs. A Level III NICU is equipped to treat babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation. As a regional referral center, we also receive babies from other birthing centers who need the high level of care our team provides.
UMass Memorial Medical Center provides the option to donate your baby’s umbilical cord blood at the time of delivery. The blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta after a baby's birth is rich in stem cells that are found in bone marrow. It used to be thrown away as waste, but by donating it you can help advance medical research.
Cord blood donation for research is easy and at no cost to you.
UMass Memorial Health is the only program in the region with maternal-fetal medicine specialists, doctors who specialize in high-risk obstetrical care. We are with you throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum, providing personalized services that protect you and your growing baby.
