ADVICE FROM TRUSTED MEDICAL EXPERTS

Managing life during a pandemic is hard. And so is keeping up with the most current guidelines for staying as safe as possible when the virus is changing and spreading quickly. You can get the answers to your questions here, directly from UMass Memorial Health experts.

WHEN TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL

In emergency or life-threatening situations, the hospital is the best place to go for the care you need — even if cases of COVID-19 are surging in your community. But avoid going to a hospital emergency department for symptoms or conditions that can be treated by your primary care provider or an urgent care center.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS

If you have COVID-19 symptoms, get a test right away. If you test positive, wear a mask and keep yourself from others to avoid spreading the illness. That’s the key to keeping COVID-19 in check.
