The UMass Memorial Health Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) seeks to foster a culture of care and caring where patients are nurtured in body, mind and spirit.
The Patient and Family Advisory Council seeks to promote safe and comprehensive patient- and family-centered care:
An intensivist is a board-certified physician who provides special care for critically ill patients. Also known as a critical care physician, the intensivist has advanced training and experience in treating this complex type of patient.
After medical school, an intensivist completes a residency and board certification in a specialty such as surgery, internal medicine, pulmonary medicine or pediatrics, plus an additional two- to three-year fellowship and certification in critical care medicine.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to gain exposure to the medical community, explore careers, enhance your knowledge and give back to UMass Memorial Health. We offer unique volunteer programs for both adults and teens. Through volunteering, you’ll find a challenging and satisfying experience while performing a valuable service to the staff and a warm and caring environment for patients and their families.

Pastoral Care Services at HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital support your psychosocial, spiritual and religious needs with compassion, attentive listening and unconditional acceptance.
We recognize the stress, anxiety, fear or loneliness that can accompany illness, and many patients and families find it helpful to talk to a chaplain or clergy for support during such times. Your own clergy is welcome to visit with you as well.
If you’d like a visit from a chaplain, please ask your nurse. We would be happy to arrange that for you.
