- Community gardens that promote healthy eating
- Information for people living with a chronic disease (such as diabetes) and those with an increased risk of developing these conditions
- Classes for seniors on fall prevention, nutrition and gentle movement
- On-site training, internships and mentoring for local high school and college students
- Scholarships for minority students and vulnerable students who are pursuing a health-related education
Our Programs
We offer education, community outreach and services that help people live healthier now and in the future. Our youth programs shape the next generation of community members and help them focus on their mental and physical health.
Youth Internship Program
This program is designed for high school graduates and students who are currently enrolled in a college degree program. They participate in hands-on internships at our Leominster campus in a variety of departments, including clinical care, food and nutrition, nursing education and human resources. Interns can gain professional experience in a dynamic health care setting.
Community Health Needs Assessment
At HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, we identify and address the health needs of residents in our communities. We focus on being socially and economically inclusive and design our programs to help all people in the region. We conducted a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment that highlighted the most pressing needs so we can address them.

Community Benefits Strategic Implementation Plan
Our Strategic Implementation Plan focuses on three main goals, so we can tackle the most pressing challenges facing our community:
- Address the social drivers of health affecting our patients’ overall wellness, including financial stability, housing, food security and transportation
- Meet our patients’ needs related to mental health and substance use
- Promote equitable access to care for people with chronic and complex conditions

Determination of Needs (DoN) Funding Opportunity
HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital has contributed more than $2.3 million dollars to support our community. These funds were distributed through DoN funding from our emergency department (ED) capital project. The funds represent 5% of the total cost of the ED renovation.
In part, this DoN funding went to support nature-based learning experiences for people with mobility-related disabilities. We partnered with Mass Audubon and North County Land Trust Inc. to create accessibility workshops and help individuals access trails in Fitchburg and Princeton. The program ensures that everyone has equitable access to nature. It provides freedom chairs, walking poles and other equipment to make it easier for participants to explore the area.
