What Is a Patient and Family Advisory Council?

A Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is a group of patients, family members and caregivers who work together to improve the quality, safety and experience of care at a health care organization. The PFACs across UMass Memorial contribute to a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the patient and family experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
