Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses cancer-fighting drugs and other substances to halt cancer cell growth. Our participation in the Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative helps you receive care informed by additional hematologist-oncologists. 

Targeted Therapies

This treatment uses drugs and other substances that attack specific gene changes (mutations) in cancer cells. We conduct genetic testing to determine whether you have one of these mutations, then deliver the most appropriate therapy to treat it. We offer mutation-specific therapies and novel immunotherapies including disease-specific bispecific antibody therapy. These can be used to treat multiple myeloma and Non-hodgkin lymphomas, such as Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) or large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL). 

CAR T-Cell Therapy

Also known as chimeric antigen receptor CAR T-cell therapy, this treatment uses modified immune system cells to detect and attack cancer. UMass Memorial is the only FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) accredited program in Central Massachusetts offering CAR T therapies. CAR T-cell therapy provides additional options for blood cancers such as lymphomas, myeloma and some forms of leukemia. CAR T-cell therapy is also being tested in clinical trials for non-malignant conditions such as lupus nephritis, systemic sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases.

Bone Marrow Transplant

UMass Memorial is the only FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy) accredited program in Central Massachusetts offering bone marrow transplant services. This procedure delivers healthy blood-forming cells through infusion. Our commitment to exceptional care and high safety standards has earned our program national recognition. Our team also performs translational research in stem cell transplant, and we are at the leading-edge of cancer care.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays and other substances to destroy cancer cells. This treatment relieves pain in your bones or abdominal area due to blood cancers. You have access to advanced technologies that deliver precise treatments while protecting healthy tissue.
