The Liver Tumor Center is a collaboration between the Department of Surgery and the Cancer Center. We offer therapies to patients who formerly had few options for treatment.

Expert Care for Liver Cancer

Working closely with gastrointestinal specialists, we offer patients comprehensive care from diagnosis through treatment and recovery. Using advanced liver function tests, imaging (ultrasound, CT scan and MRI) and biopsy, we can accurately diagnose and stage your liver disease and develop an effective individual treatment plan in collaboration with our team of experts.

Our specialists—surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and interventional radiologists, infectious disease specialists, pathologists, and palliative care experts—focus on providing comprehensive therapies and symptom management, with the ultimate goal of liver transplantation or liver resection (removal of part of the liver). For many patients, surgery and liver transplantation offer the best chance for a cure.
