Leominster, MA – HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital (HA-C) earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.
“Earning an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group reflects the strong safety culture our teams live every day,” said Dr. Charles Cavagnaro, President of HealthAlliance Clinton Hospital. “This recognition belongs to our caregivers, support staff and clinical leaders who are relentlessly focused on doing the right thing for every patient, every time.”
The “A” grade reflects three years of sustained work at HA-C to strengthen quality and safety by building and empowering clinical teams to lead improvements based on what they hear directly from patients. These efforts have become embedded in daily operations, with structured, frequent reviews of safety concerns, quality metrics and outcomes at every level.
“We are balancing quality, safety and experience while we're building an army of patient-focused, person-centered caregivers who seek out opportunity to improve at every turn,” said Dr. Cavagnaro.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade panel uses multiple evidence-based measures of patient safety. Leapfrog then calculates a specific numerical score for all eligible hospitals in the country, which is then converted into one of five letter grades, with “A” representing the best grade. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
