UMass Memorial Health Names Tim Foley as Vice President of Government Relations
Worcester, MA – UMass Memorial Health(UMMH), the largest not-for-profit health care system in Central Massachusetts, today announced that Tim Foley will be joining the system as Vice President of Government Relations starting April 28. Foley has served as Executive Vice President and Massachusetts Division Director of 1199SEIU.
As Vice President of Government Relations, Foley will lead UMMH’s legislative efforts to ensure hospitals, health care workers, and patients remain a top priority in Massachusetts. His proven ability to work closely with community, political, and regulatory leaders will support UMMH’s goal of stabilizing health care in Central Massachusetts and its mission to serve all patients across the diverse populations of Central Massachusetts.
For nearly 20 years, Foley has held numerous leadership roles at 1199SEIU. Representing and advocating on behalf of more than 85,000 members, Foley has developed relationships with key leaders in the political, health care, and public policy arena to promote the legislative and funding priorities of one of the largest and most influential unions in the state. Throughout his tenure, he has overseen all aspects of political engagement, policy initiatives, and union growth.

Before joining 1199SEIU, Foley worked as a campaign manager and mobilization coordinator for gubernatorial and state senate campaigns, and on behalf of other unions and nonprofit organizations, including Massachusetts AFL-CIO and the Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education.
