Important Update: Transitioning of Community Healthlink Programs

UMass Memorial Health and Community Healthlink recognize the essential role that comprehensive behavioral health services play in helping community members recover from mental health, substance use, and homelessness. As we work toward the eventual closure of Community Healthlink, our main priority is ensuring that the clients and communities we serve can access the care they need in pursuit of their health, healing and recovery.

Currently, we want to emphasize that almost all Community Healthlink programs are open and fully operational. Clients can continue seeking Community Healthlink’s programs and services as they normally would, while providers can continue to make referrals through the usual channels.

We are working with trusted and highly respected community-based organizations that are interested in operating Community Healthlink’s programs, including Behavioral Health Network, Clinical and Support Options, the Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance, Open Sky, Eliot Community Human Services, and Mentor South Bay. Together with these partners, we are working carefully to ensure that there is continuity of care — meaning no disruption in people’s access to our services.

This page includes information about upcoming changes and transitions for each program. While we have identified partners for most of our services, we are still determining transition timelines. We will regularly update this page as plans are finalized and more information is available about the operational status of each program.

About These Updates

Because these plans are being developed individually for each program:

  • Changes will occur at different times and dates.
  • Programs will be affected in different ways as they transition to new operators.

As part of this process, impacted employees must receive a 60-day written notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act ("WARN notice") prior to their Community Healthlink position ending and their program transitioning to a new operator. Eventually, all employees at Community Healthlink will receive a notice of the ending of their Community Healthlink employment as their programs transition to a new operator.

Despite the issuing of these notices, most of these programs will continue to operate and many impacted employees will likely find employment with the new operators.

Current Status: Programs Remain Open for Referrals

Many Community Healthlink programs remain open and operational at this time.

  • We continue to accept referrals through the same processes our partners have always used.
  • Services are continuing across our programs.
  • If you have questions about a specific program, please connect with your usual Community Healthlink contact or referral partner.

As plans evolve, updates will be shared here on a program-by-program basis.

Important: Community Healthlink programs located at 40 Spruce Street, Leominster, will move to 100 Erdman Way, Leominster in mid-August.
