The CareerPATH Internship Program offers paid, hands-on experience for college and graduate students pursuing non-clinical healthcare careers. Interns support real projects, receive mentorship and build professional networks across areas like Finance, Information Services, Marketing, Digital Services, Informatics, External Affairs and Regulatory Affairs. Opportunities are available year-round.
Child Life Internship Program
Clinical Support | Hospital-Based Learning
UMass Memorial Health’s Child Life Internship Program supports students enrolled in accredited Child Life programs. Interns work under certified Child Life Specialists in hospital settings, helping children and families cope with hospitalization through play, preparation and emotional support. This immersive experience prepares students for professional child life certification and pediatric healthcare careers.
Internship Programs for High School Students
NextGen Workforce Internship Program
Paid Summer Program | High School Students
The NextGen Workforce Internship Program offers six-week paid summer internships for local high school students exploring healthcare careers. Students gain exposure to administrative and support roles across departments such as Primary Care, Laboratories, Capital Planning and hospital units. The Summer 2026 application period is closed. Opportunities for Summer 2027 will open in Spring 2027.
Volunteering Opportunities
Adults and Teens Age 17+
UMass Memorial Health also offers unique volunteering opportunities to both adults and teens ages 17 and up. Volunteering is a wonderful way to gain exposure to the medical community, explore careers, enhance your knowledge and give back.
