Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation Event Raises More Than $23K For Cancer Patients

An annual ceremony hosted by the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation raised tens of thousands for cancer care. The Annual Tree of Life ceremony on Dec. 8 attracted about 75 attendees and raised more than $23,000 to support the Oliva Fund for Cancer Care.

Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad

Have some leftover chicken? With just a few ingredients, you can re-purpose it for a healthy lunch. This Simply Salad contest winning dish was submitted by Frances Lucas, UMass Memorial Medical Center - Marlborough Campus, Marlborough, MA 

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 2 c. chopped, cooked chicken
  • ¼ c. diced celery
  • ¼ c. raisins
  • ¼ c. fat free plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 T mayonnaise made with olive oil
  • ¼ t salt
  • ¼ t pepper
  • Optional stuffing ideas include: carrots, lettuce, sprouts.

Directions

In a bowl, combine all ingredients. Serve.

Women and Heart Disease: Broken Heart Syndrome

While 'broken heart syndrome' may sound like the theme of a romance novel, it's a very real health condition that mostly affects women. In fact, more than 90 percent of reported cases occur in women ages 58 to 75.
