Hearing Loss Types and Causes

We manage all types and causes of hearing loss.

Conductive Hearing Loss

Conductive hearing loss is more common in children. This middle ear problem occurs when sound can’t reach the eardrum. Ear infections and earwax buildup are two common causes.

Conductive hearing loss is often temporary. Treatments include:

• Medications, such as eardrops and antibiotics
• Surgical placement of ear tubes (tympanostomy)

Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Damage to your inner ear causes sensorineural hearing loss. This type of hearing loss is often permanent. We offer a range of treatments, including hearing aids and hearing implants, for people with sensorineural hearing loss.

Causes of sensorineural hearing loss include:

Mixed Hearing Loss
