Jillian Joseph, PA-C, is a physician assistant at UMass Memorial Health, where she serves as Clinician and Director of the Road to Care Mobile Clinic and Senior Advanced Practitioner in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She also holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.
Since 2021, Jillian has helped lead the Road to Care Mobile Clinic, a low-barrier, patient-centered program that brings care directly to people in the Worcester community who are experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and other complex medical and social needs. She also provides primary care at Barre Family Health Center, part of UMass Memorial Medical Group, where she has practiced since 2014.
Jillian earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her background also includes training in paramedicine and several years of experience in emergency medicine and urgent care.
Jillian's clinical focus includes substance use disorder treatment and harm reduction. She has led community education initiatives on overdose prevention and the management of opioid use disorder, and her work has been published in journals including Frontiers in Public Health and Prehospital Emergency Care.
Jillian's commitment to Worcester's most vulnerable patients has been recognized with several honors, including the Community Partner of the Year award (SMOC, 2023; LIFT/Safe Exit Initiative, 2022) and a Gold Level Innovators of the Year award from UMass Memorial Health (2022).
