Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UMass Memorial Medical Group
Maureen “Mo” Bresee-Ferreira, MBA, serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UMass Memorial Medical Group, which consists of 3,600 employees, including 2,200 physicians and advanced practice providers. In her role, Mo collaborates closely with the 18 UMass Memorial Health clinical departments and their Chairs to oversee physician compensation, drive new program development, lead provider recruitment and advancement, manage financial operations and spearhead strategic initiatives.
Mo began her career at UMass Memorial Health in 2007, following six years as a hospital administrator at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. She initially joined the Medical Group as a senior administrator within the Department of Medicine’s Administrative Services Group (ASG), later advancing to Associate Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of the ASG in 2019.
Throughout her tenure, Mo has distinguished herself as a collaborative and visionary leader. She is widely respected for her ability to navigate complex systems, foster cross-functional partnerships, and lead with transparency, humor, and humility – qualities that have earned her the trust and admiration of colleagues across the organization.
