Maureen “Mo” Bresee-Ferreira, MBA, is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UMass Memorial Medical Group, which includes 3,500 employees; more than 2,100 of whom are physicians and advanced practice providers. In this role, Mo collaborates closely with 18 UMass Memorial Health academic departments and three community departments to oversee physician compensation, drive new program development, lead provider recruitment and advancement, manage financial operations, and spearhead strategic initiatives.
Mo began her career at UMass Memorial Health in 2007, following six years as a hospital administrator at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. She initially joined the Medical Group as a senior administrator within the Department of Medicine’s Administrative Services Group (ASG), later advancing to Associate Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of the ASG in 2019.
Throughout her career, Mo has earned recognition as a collaborative, visionary leader. She is widely respected for her ability to navigate complex systems, foster cross-functional partnerships, and lead with transparency, humor, and humility – qualities that have earned her the trust and admiration of colleagues across the organization.
