Chair, Department of Radiology, UMass Memorial Health; Board of Governors, UMass Memorial Medical Group
Max Rosen, MD, MPH, joined UMass Memorial Health and UMass Chan Medical School in 2012. He currently serves as UMass Memorial’s Chair of Radiology and Professor of Radiology. Dr. Rosen is a graduate of Brown University, Tufts Medical School, and the Harvard School of Public Health, and is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American Heart Association.
During his time at UMass Memorial, the Department of Radiology has grown significantly, providing imaging services across UMass Memorial Health as part of a comprehensive, integrated healthcare delivery system. The Radiology Department is also "home" to the Division of Translational Anatomy and many of the pre-clinical educators at UMass Chan Medical School.
Dr. Rosen’s current research interests involve using eye-tracking to better understand why radiologists may miss a finding on imaging and quantifying how imaging AI impacts clinical decision making in the Emergency Department. Dr. Rosen currently serves as Board Chair of UMass Memorial Medical Group and is a trustee of the Marine Biology Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA.
