Donna M. and Robert J. Manning Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Tiffany Moore Simas, MD, is the Donna M. and Robert J. Manning Chair and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), and a Professor of OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School/UMass Memorial Health.
A nationally recognized physician scientist and leader in perinatal mental health, she is the founding obstetric engagement leader of the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program (MCPAP) for Moms — a first-in-nation statewide program supporting obstetric care clinicians in addressing mental health and substance use disorders — which has become the model for over 30 perinatal psychiatry access programs nationwide.
She also leads the Lifeline for Moms National Network, advancing the integration of obstetric and mental healthcare and promoting perinatal mental health equity. Dr. Moore Simas has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has had continuous federal funding from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). She also serves in national leadership roles with The Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology (SAGOG) (President), the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), and the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM).
Dr. Moore Simas earned her Medical Degree (MD) from UMass Chan Medical School, her Master of Public Health (MPH) and her Master of Healthcare Management (MHCM) from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and her Master of Education (MEd) from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
