Avidia Bank Makes Gift to Support the Emergency Department in Marlborough
Avidia Bank made a $50,000 gift to support the expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Marlborough Campus. The project will increase emergency room capacity, reduce wait times and enhance the patient-centered environment for patients, families, and caregivers.
“Avidia Bank’s generous gift will help ensure that patients and families in Marlborough and beyond have expanded access to highest caliber emergency medical care,” said Justin Precourt, President of UMass Memorial Medical Center. “We are grateful to Avidia Bank for their support of this vital project and for their commitment to the community.”
The renovation will increase the Marlborough Campus Emergency Department from 13 to 23 state-of-the-art treatment rooms, including two dedicated trauma rooms.
“On behalf of the Avidia Bank Charitable Foundation, we are honored to support this important renovation,” said Rob Cozzone, President and CEO of Avidia Bank. “This project represents a meaningful investment in the communities that we both serve.”
Construction began in October 2025 and is slated for completion in November 2026, with patient care anticipated to begin in the new space in December 2026.
