Paperless Billing

Paperless billing is the default billing method for UMass Memorial Health patients. Patients are automatically enrolled in paperless billing unless they have opted out. Paperless billing makes it easier to manage your account online whenever you like, reduces our use of paper, and supports our efforts to protect the environment.

Benefits of Paperless Billing for UMass Memorial Patients

Patients who have an email address or mobile phone number in our system are automatically enrolled in paperless billing, including those who don’t have a myChart account.

If you prefer, you can continue to receive paper statements by mail. You will receive an email or text notification when a new billing statement is available, along with instructions for managing your preferences. You can also opt out by visiting the Paperless Billing section in myChart.

How to Sign Up for myChart

If you are not enrolled in myChart, consider signing up today! myChart is easy to use and enrolling is a simple process. With myChart you will have secure access to your health information, including visits, test results and medications. We also recently launched myChart Spanish, making the site fully accessible for patients who speak Spanish.

Update Your Contact Information and Set Notification Preferences in myChart

Once you are enrolled in myChart, you can check and update your contact information or set your notification preferences. You can even receive notifications by text when you provide us with your mobile phone number.
