You’re not alone. Beside the support of family and friends, UMass Memorial Medical Center offers support and comfort through these programs:

Support Groups

Cancer Symposiums

Held throughout the year. Topics include pancreatic, colorectal and appendiceal cancers.

American Cancer Society Resource Center

In partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS), the Cancer Resource Center is on-site at UMass Memorial Medical Center to provide support to cancer patients, their family members and caregivers. 

A patient navigator and certified volunteers offer:

  • Cancer information
  • Information on programs and services
  • Referrals to community resources (e.g., educational programs, transportation to appointments, housing during treatment) 
  • A lending library
  • Hats, scarves and wigs (for patients whose insurance does not cover this)
