What Is a Podiatrist?

A podiatrist is a specialist in foot and ankle conditions. Podiatrists complete their education in an accredited school of podiatric medicine, followed by a three-year residency in a hospital. Our podiatrists are doctors of podiatric medicine (DPMs) who specialize in pediatric (children’s) podiatry or adult podiatry.

Conditions We Treat

We care for all types of foot and ankle problems, including Achilles tendon injuries, fractures (broken bones) and tendonitis of the foot. Whether you have a complex sports injury or a minor concern, we can help.

Our team also treats painful foot conditions that occur from everyday wear and tear or from genetic differences in your foot structure. We provide surgery and noninvasive care for bunions, hammer toes and all causes of heel pain. You can also see our podiatrists for toenail problems and cuts or sores on your feet.

Our podiatrists may partner with other specialists if you have arthritis in the foot. We coordinate your care with rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists, depending on your diagnosis and needs. A podiatrist can help you manage pain and other arthritis symptoms with noninvasive treatments, such as custom orthotics for your shoes.
