The Clinical Partner of UMass Chan Medical School
Thank you for your interest in our PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program. We hope that through browsing the pages of this website you see all the great things our hospital and program has to offer. Our personal road to residency training began in the Summer of 2018 and we have been working diligently since then on developing our program and tailoring the requirements and learning experiences to the strengths of both our hospital and our department. We were granted ASHP accreditation in our first residency year, 2020.
Our team in the Pharmacy Department at UMass Memorial Health - HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital is composed of devoted and hardworking individuals who are all passionate about providing excellent patient care. The addition of a pharmacy resident has strengthened our department and improved the patient care that we can provide. Through their training year with us, the resident will gain all of the hands-on experience and skills he or she needs to work as a clinical pharmacist in the community hospital setting.
Throughout the year the resident will get the opportunity to work alongside pharmacy management, clinical pharmacists and specialists, physicians, medical residents, nurses, pharmacy students, and more. The resident will be exposed to both centralized pharmacy operations and decentralized pharmacy operations throughout the hospital and will see the unique way pharmacists operate in a community hospital setting.
Many of our previous residents have taken on clinical pharmacist positions, with multiple staying in the system either with us or at the medical center.
