We're expected to hit triple digits today in Massachusetts for the first time in nearly three years. With the humidity, the National Weather Service says the heat index will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees in most parts of the state.

Becker’s has compiled a list of the hospitals patients would recommend in each state using Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems data from CMS. CMS created 10 Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) star ratings based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures.

Extreme heat in Massachusetts means a trip to the spray park for a lot of Worcester families. A local emergency medicine doctor who spoke with Spectrum News 1 said it's important to stay cool if you plan to spend time outside because the high temperatures can get dangerous if you're not careful.

An extreme heat warning is in effect through Tuesday evening as temperatures soar across New England. The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures above 100 degrees on Tuesday, but the humidity will make it feel more like 110 degrees in many parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

With plans to purchase a $53.5 million proton beam, UMass Memorial Health would become only the second hospital in New England to offer proton cancer therapy.
