UMass Memorial head of urology discusses former President Biden's prostate diagnosis

Joe Biden’s personal office made the announcement on Sunday, saying the former president was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule last week and diagnosed Friday with prostate cancer. Dr. Mitchell Sokoloff said, for most men, usually the disease is detected in an earlier stage. “Not surprised that an 82-year-old gentleman would be diagnosed with prostate cancer," Sokoloff said. "However, it was a little surprising how advanced the disease had become.”

Southbridge, MA, November 6, 2023 – An idea conceived a year ago to help combat food and clothing insecurities in South Central Massachusetts has come to fruition. UMass Memorial Health – Harrington, has opened two free “Bridge Fridge” Community Closet and Pantry locations on its campuses - one at 100 South Street, Southbridge and another at 340 Thompson Road, Webster.

Celebrating 40 Years of Helping Vulnerable Youth Earns Him a Key to the City of Worcester

Mayor Joe Petty presents Dr. Hummel with a key to the city.

Worcester, Mass – His 40 years of caring for the mental health of Worcester youth has earned Clinical Psychologist Richard Hummel, MD, a key to the City of Worcester. In a surprise ceremony on Wednesday, October 4 at the Community Healthlink (CHL) offices, Mayor Joe Petty presented Dr. Hummel with his own key.
