Quality Care

UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center delivers quality care to children throughout Central Massachusetts. We offer:

  • Pediatric Emergency Department (ED) that is a Level II Trauma Center for children accredited by the American College of Surgeons
  • The only American Diabetes Association-approved program for children in Central Massachusetts
  • A Cystic Fibrosis Center that treats about 140 young people with cystic fibrosis — more than some Boston hospitals and more than any other facility in Central and Western Massachusetts
  • A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with 11 beds that admits about 700 children and adolescents a year
  • Internationally recognized for quality care, our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the region's only Level III (highest rating given) NICU for high-risk obstetrical and neonatal care
  • Member of the Children's Hospital Association, which is the "Good Housekeeping Stamp of Approval" program for children’s hospitals and designates the Children's Medical Center as one that delivers exceptional care
