Breast and Gynecologic Cancer Testing

OB-GYNs perform screening exams for cervical cancer and may coordinate mammograms for breast cancer screening.

If you are experiencing symptoms of breast or gynecologic cancers, we arrange testing to learn more. If these test results indicate a possible cancer diagnosis, we refer you to additional specialists. UMass Memorial is home to a highly regarded cancer center, where you receive expert care close to home.

Gynecologic Surgery

We provide surgical care for conditions affecting the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, including abnormal bleeding, fibroids and polyps. We frequently perform minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (MIGS). This approach involves smaller incisions, leading to less pain and a faster recovery.

We also offer procedures for pregnancy loss and permanent birth control as part of our complex family planning service.

Menopause Evaluations and Treatment

Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologic Care

UMass Memorial provides gentle, supportive gynecology care for children, teens and young adults. Our team includes a gynecologist with special training in the needs of younger patients. Transgender Services

Our team consists of thoughtful, experienced OB-GYNs, many of whom have a special interest in LGBTQIA+ care. We provide a variety of services for people assigned female at birth, including:

• Pelvic exams for cancer screening if you still have a cervix and uterus
• Gender-affirming hormone therapy
• Coordination with surgeons who perform minimally invasive gender-affirming hysterectomy

Obstetric Services

Our team provides prenatal, childbirth and postpartum care for low and moderate-risk pregnancies. We also offer initial genetic testing for suspected fertility issues. We pride ourselves on providing a family-centered birth experience that reflects your preferences. Our program annually delivers the highest volume of babies in the region.
