Experienced Health Care Executive to Lead Central Massachusetts’ Largest Academic Medical Center

WORCESTER, MA – Eric Dickson, MD, MHCM, FACEP, president and chief executive officer of UMass Memorial Health Care, today announced that Patrick Muldoon has been named president of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. The appointment is effective August 26.

Marlborough, MA – They are sometimes referred to as comforters, quilts or even duvets, but no matter what you call them, blankets are a source of warmth and comfort. And coming later this fall, patients receiving treatment at the new Cancer Center at Marlborough Hospital will have the added comfort of hand-made blankets courtesy of the Courtyard by Marriott of Marlborough. In fact, as part of their recent lobby renovation celebration, the Courtyard by Marriott spearheaded a special build-a-blanket project.

The girls raised money to donate to the cancer center by selling hand-crafted ribbons to their friends and fellow students.

UMass Memorial Joins National Pilot Study Aimed to Improve Care for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients

WORCESTER – UMass Memorial Medical Center is among a group of six hospitals to recently join a national pilot study under way to promote evidence-based evaluation and treatment standards for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients with this type of lung cancer are also candidates for an operation called “lung resection.”
