Getting Diagnosed with Genitourinary Cancer
You feel troubled or agitated if you have been diagnosed with or suspect you have a genitourinary cancer, such as prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, renal pelvis cancer or cancer of the penis or ureters. The knowledge that our team of experts will help you assess your options and provide you with optimal care and treatment should offer some peace of mind.
The patients at UMass Memorial Health Cancer Center in Worcester benefit from the latest diagnostic and treatment options. We work with the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School on extensive cancer research and clinical trials, providing personalized, high quality care in a patient-focused setting at four convenient locations: UMass Memorial Medical Center, UMass Memorial Health – HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, UMass Memorial Health – Harrington Hospital and UMass Memorial Health – Marlborough Hospital.
We bring our specialists together in a single setting, also known as multidisciplinary care, to discuss each patient’s diagnosis and develop a thorough treatment plan. It’s likely you’ll only need a single appointment to meet one-on-one with our team members. We’ll address your concerns and questions, paying attention to both your physical and emotional needs.

Advanced Robotic Surgery
We offer many options for genitourinary cancer treatment, including minimally invasive robotic surgery for some colon cancer, rectal cancer and prostate cancer patients. During this type of procedure, our surgeons use the da Vinci S Robotic Surgery System to perform delicate operations, such as a prostatectomy (removal of all/part of the prostate), with incredible accuracy. This results in less pain and faster recovery time for our patients.
