COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

colorectal blue starYou don't want to talk about it, but we do.

We know it can be hard to talk about colon cancer.  But 80 to 90 percent of the 150,000 cases of colon cancer diagnosed each year in the United States are preventable through screening. Screening colonoscopies let doctors find and remove pre-cancerous polyps before they become cancerous. Talking about it saves lives.

Specialists in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the Division of Gastroenterology, and the Cancer Center of Excellence will be sharing tips on preventing cancer and information on other colon-related things you probably don’t want to talk about, either.  Click our tips below and come back every day for more. If you’re 50 or older, or 40 with a family history of colon cancer, call 855-UMASS-MD today to schedule your screening colonoscopy.
